Media Center

My name is Joni Poynter and I'm the librarian at North Jackson Elementary.  I have been in education for 22 years.  I started my teaching career at Park City Elementary in a 5th and 6th grade split class.  I moved into the library at Park City four years later and spent another four  years there. After 8 years at Park City, I transferred to the library at Eastern.  This year I  work half time in the library at Eastern and half time in the library at North Jackson.

I am an alumnus of Barren County High School and Western Kentucky University. I am married to Choppy Poynter and we have one son, Bryce, who is a golf course superintendent in Evansville, Indiana.  Bryce is married and has two beautiful daughters.

The media center here at North Jackson is a very busy place.  You can find students in here all throughout the day checking out books, on the computers working on their coding skills or enjoying a fun book with me.

Our Fall Book fair was a huge success.  We raised $9,800!!  We keep $2,400 of that to be used for new books and library supplies.  Thank you for your support of our book fair! Our next book fair will be in the spring.
